Qualcomm announced last Wednesday (8) the mobile platform Snapdragon 865 Plus 5G, update of Snapdragon 865, announced in December 2019.
The chip was designed to offer 10% higher performance, reaching up to 3.1 GHz speed, with the promise of providing an incredibly fast gaming experience, equipped with 5G technologies and ultra intuitive AI.
“As we work to scale 5G, we continue to invest in our first-tier, 8-series mobile platforms to expand in terms of performance and energy efficiency and offer the next generation of camera, AI and gaming experiences,” said Alex Katouzian , Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Telephony at Qualcomm Technologies.
Equipped with the Snapdragon X55 modem, specially developed for the 5G connection, the 865 Plus offers smartphone users to experience desktop quality games, with the first features for mobile devices such as GPU drivers, rendering and gameplay with speeds up to 144 fps, providing cinematic details in more than a billion shades of color.
The ROG Phone 3, a smartphone developed by Asus and part of a line created by the company to sell gaming devices, will be the first smartphone to feature the new chipset.
