Reopened in January 2020, the MUSEHUM – Museum of Communications and Humanity has been completely reformulated to present users with an experience that unites history with the use of immersive technologies to optimize learning.
With the closure of establishments due to the new coronavirus
(Covid-19), the Oi Futuro team, which manages the space, decided to make the entire catalog available online. Achieved on Monday (29), when more than 130 thousand items, such as historical photographs, objects and documents, were presented in the online format.
“Making museum collections available online is to preserve the culture and knowledge brought by each object. It is to make information reach as many people as possible. A significant part of the human trajectory over its territory is deposited in museums around the world, and this legacy needs to be available for research and reframing ”, says Bruna Cruz, coordinator of MUSEHUM and museologist at Oi Futuro.
The collection, which can be accessed at this link, has been separated into the following topics:
- Public telephony
- Telephone operators
- Electricity Equipment / Magnestimo
- Photographic / Film Production Equipment
- Audio / Visual Communication Equipment
- Telecommunications Equipment
- Precision / Optical Instrument
- Piece of Furniture
- Ground transportation
