Heather Locklear said her first Wives Club co-star James Naughton is not to blame for a “disgusting” moment that occurred while filming the film.

During a recent appearance on the Zach Braff and Donald Faison podcast, “Fake Doctors, Real Friends”, Locklear, 58, filmed a scene with Naughton, 74, in which he became more intimate than expected.

The actress explained that most of her scenes were cut from the film, but in the one that was shown, Naughton “should take your hand and touch my chest”.

“He really played more … disgusting,” said Locklear, on page six. “So I said, ‘Can you just take my name off the credits, since I don’t have any words now?’ So I had no credit.

She also noted that while the script did not require the actor to do this, he “really describes my areola with his finger”.

“I was like [gasps] and I am so happy that they are following his hand [with the camera] because my face, my mouth is open and I can’t believe it and I don’t do it again. One shot and let’s go “, he recalled.

Naughton followed the interview by denying Locklear’s claim that he left the script for the scene.

“James remembers filming this scene as written in the script,” a Naughton representative told Yahoo Entertainment. “He fully understands that Heather would be uncomfortable in filming this scene, as he was also uncomfortable.”

In addition, the representative shared a page of the script, which says that Naughton’s character “is subtly using his finger to feel Mary’s chest”.

Now, the former “Melrose Place” star has clarified his comments, saying the embarrassing moment was not Naughton’s fault.

Taking to Instagram with a screenshot of a headline describing the incident, Locklear came to the defense of his former co-star.

“Oh no, I didn’t mean that James Naughton did something wrong,” she said. “The script asked him to touch my chest. I was surprised that he circled my areola. We had not discussed the scene before filming.”

She concluded, “To be clear, I was never upset with James, just surprised. I love you, James.”

In a statement on page six, Naughton’s representative responded with a sweet message.

“From James: ‘I love you back, Heather.'”
