“Empire” actor Bryshere Gray was arrested in Arizona on charges of abuse of his wife, police said.
The Goodyear Police Department said Gray, 26, was hired on Saturday, KPNX-TV reported.
The woman had visible injuries when she signaled someone to call for help near Gray’s home in Phoenix’s Goodyear suburb, saying that her husband assaulted her, police said. She told emergency teams that Gray had strangled her, according to authorities, and she was taken to a hospital.

Gray refused to leave his home when the police arrived, but was arrested after SWAT and crisis negotiators responded, the police said.
Gray, who played Hakeem Lyon on the Chicago TV show, was stopped in Chicago in 2019 after authorities said a temporary plaque did not match the 2014 Rolls-Royce he was driving. He was arrested on a misdemeanor charge and fined.
